Metal Fabricator

AKT Demolition is currently seeking an experienced Metal Fabricator to join its team on a full-time basis. This is an immediate opportunity based in Malaga, Western Australia.

Task & responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications 
• Measure, mark, cut, and shape metal materials using hand tools and machinery 
• Fabricate and assemble metal components and structures according to project requirements 
• Perform welding using appropriate techniques (e.g. MIG, TIG, arc welding) 
• Grind, polish, and finish metal surfaces to required standards 
• Inspect completed work to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications 
• Carry out repairs and modifications to existing metal structures and components 
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition 
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times 

Qualification & experience

• At least 3 years of relevant full-time work experience as a Metal Fabricator 
• Relevant trade qualification (Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent) 
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans 
• Experience with a range of fabrication tools and welding techniques 
• High attention to detail and quality workmanship 
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines 
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices 
• Ability to work both independently and within a team
