Metal Fabricator / Boilermaker

We are now looking for a highly skilled Metal Fabricator (specialisation: Boilermaker-Welder) able to perform work with utmost efficiency to the industry’s highest standard.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Minimum of 1 year work experience in a similar role 
• Relevant qualification or 3 years of work experience in a similar role 
• Proven skills in fabricating and assembling metal construction and fabrication components 
• Demonstrated skills and experience using various welding techniques and tools
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, working plans and technical drawings
• Experience working in concrete precast production
• Strong attention to detail and precision to meet high-quality standards
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment and to meet production deadlines
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

Key Responsibilities:

• Fabrication, cutting and shaping, installation, and assembly of structural metal components
• Read drawings and production schedules to determine product or job instructions and specifications
• Set up and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment, grinders, metal drop saw and drills 
• Select and use appropriate welding techniques to fabricate components
• Perform general welding and fabrication duties to weld or join metal construction and fabrication components
• Examine work for defects and measure with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications
• Undertake appropriate maintenance and care procedures for all tools and equipment
• Participate in professional development and training
• Lead junior carpenters/apprentices on projects
• Maintain records and document actions
