About the Role
Codmah Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Drillers to operate Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) equipment across multiple project locations in Queensland, Northern Territory and Christmas Island.
This role involves assembling, positioning and operating drilling rigs and associated equipment to support trenchless construction and underground infrastructure projects. You will be required to travel and work across various remote and regional sites.
Key Responsibilities
Operate HDD rigs and associated drilling equipment for underground installations
Execute drilling activities including setup, pilot boring, reaming, and pullback
Interpret construction drawings, bore plans, and technical specifications
Monitor drilling conditions and adjust operations to maintain alignment and safety
Assemble, dismantle, relocate and maintain drilling rigs and plant
Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs
Maintain drilling logs, records, and daily reports
Operate auxiliary plant such as pumps and fluid systems
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements
Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Australian certificate 3 or equivalent employment experience. Minimum of 1+ years experience working as Driller, but several years of experience is preferred
Proven experience working on complex drilling projects and varying ground conditions
Ability to interpret technical documentation and plans
Experience with large-scale drilling rigs (100T+ preferred)
Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
