Steel Fixer

This position is essential to the core operations of the business. The position will be responsible for accurately placing and securing rebar and mesh within formwork to ensure the strength, durability, and structural integrity of slabs and foundations. This is A FULL-TIME role.

Task & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities include:

• Read and interpret construction drawings and plans to determine steel reinforcement requirements
• Measure, cut, bend, and shape steel bars and mesh using hand tools or machinery
• Position and secure reinforcement bars, rods, and mesh using tying wire, clips, or welding
• Install spacers, chairs, and supports to maintain correct alignment and concrete cover
• Assist with placing reinforcement within formwork prior to concrete pouring
• Coordinate with concreters, formworkers, site supervisors, and other trades on-site
• Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
• Follow all workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements and use appropriate PPE
• Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard-free work area
• Inspect reinforcement setup to ensure it complies with structural and engineering specifications before concrete is poured.

Qualification & experience

• Trade certificate
• WHS construction white card is a MUST 
• Background in similar role for at least a year 
• Good technical building knowledge, including knowledge of Building Codes and Standards  
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
