Facade Draftsperson

Responsibilities

• Prepare facade drawings for development and construction applications
• Analyse architects' and building designers' concepts, and prepare preliminary sketches and detailed drawings
• Produce designs, detailed drawings and documentation using manual or computer-aided technology
• Prepare drawings showing site layouts, site analysis, floor plans, elevations, sections, three-dimensional images, materials and finishes
• Prepare manufacturing drawings when required, including panel and bar drawings for local and overseas manufacture
• Review manufacturing drawings prepared by other drafting resources (including external contractors) for accuracy, errors or omissions
• Select quality of materials needed, taking into consideration the material and labour costs, as well as construction completion dates
• Liaise with site teams to ensure plans and specifications are followed
• Liaise with clients, engineers, suppliers and project staff as required to effectively co-ordinate project planning
• Examine relevant Acts, regulations, codes, standards and by-laws in the course of undertaking project documentation
• Provide particular focus to introducing systems (including additional software as required) to streamline drafting, ordering, optimisation, efficiencies and cost management in material procurement
• Assist in efficiently managing all processes between the time new projects are secured and manufactured product is delivered to site
• Meet deadlines
• Liaising with overseas manufacturer in resolving problems, rectifying drawing discrepancies etc. Estimating and take offs as/ if required

 To be successful in this role you require a minimum 5 years work experience in a similar role.
