Wall and Floor Tiler

We are a leading tiling company in Central West NSW specialising in high-quality residential and commercial projects and we require the services of an experienced Wall and Floor Tiler to join our team.

Job Overview

As Wall and Floor Tiler, you will be responsible for installing ceramic, porcelain, marble, granite and other types of tiles on walls, floors and other surfaces according to blueprints, specifications, and building codes. You will work closely with various carpentry teams to ensure seamless integration of tiling projects into overall construction projects.

The role requires a mature and enthusiastic work attitude and should have a commitment for long-term employment.

Salary: $76,515 - $90,000 plus Super depending on experience

Task & responsibilities

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Examine and interpret plans to determine layout of tiles and materials required.

• Measure and mark surfaces accurately to guide tile placement.

• Prepare wall and floor surfaces by removing existing tiles, grout, and adhesives; filling holes and

cracks; and thoroughly cleaning surfaces.

• Apply waterproofing systems to ensure moisture protection and compliance with industry

standards.

• Spread tile adhesive evenly over prepared surfaces using appropriate hand tools.

• Lay tiles in position while ensuring correct alignment and spacing using levels, spacers, and other

precision tools.

• Cut and shape tiles using manual and power tile-cutting tools for fitting around edges, corners,

and fixed objects like pipes and fittings.

• Grout and seal joints between tiles after adhesive sets, ensuring a uniform and neat appearance.

• Clean excess grout and surface residue to maintain a high-quality finish.

• Install specialised flooring such as granolithic, terrazzo, or cement-based compositions when

required.

• Lay coloured tiles to form mosaics or decorative patterns as specified by design plans.

Qualification & experience

Qualifications: 

• At least Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling or equivalent OR 3 years of relevant work

experience if without formal qualifications

• White Card (Construction Induction Card).

• Driver Licence preferred

Skills and Experience:

• Hands-on work experience as a Wall and Floor Tiler across residential, commercial, or industrial

projects for at least 12 months

• Sound knowledge of tiling materials, adhesives, waterproofing systems, and Australian

construction codes.

• Skilled in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.

• Proficient in the use of tiling tools and tile-cutting equipment.

• Ability to follow health and safety regulations and maintain a tidy work area.

• Strong physical stamina and dexterity.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently or within a team.
