Commercial Building Construction Supervisor (Building Associate)

The Commercial Building Construction Supervisor (Building Associate) will work closely with the Construction Manager and Project Team to coordinate site activities, monitor compliance, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant regulations and technical specifications.

Task & responsibilities

• Assist in planning and organising construction activities across multiple project sites.
• Interpret architectural drawings, engineering plans, specifications and relevant building codes
• Coordinate labour, subcontractors, materials and plant to ensure works progress in accordance with project schedules
• Monitor construction works to ensure compliance with approved plans, Australian Standards, WHS legislation and contractual requirements
• Conduct regular site inspections to assess workmanship, materials and overall progress
• Support preparation of project documentation including work programs, variations, progress reports and technical records
• Assist with cost tracking, resource allocation and time scheduling to maintain project budgets and deadlines
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and regulatory authorities as required
• Identify and resolve construction issues in consultation with senior management

Qualification & experience

• Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Building and Construction (or equivalent qualification), or minimum three years’ relevant industry experience 
• Demonstrated experience supervising or coordinating commercial construction projects 
• Strong understanding of building regulations, codes of practice and Australian Standards 
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications 
• Sound knowledge of site safety requirements and compliance obligations 
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
